Question about High Cholesterol?


I was wondering if there might be an alternative way to get my Cholesterol in the normal ranges. I recently found out that i had a total cholesterol of 256. Im 29 years old,weigh 209, i smoke but not like i used too(like 3-6 cigs a day) and im male. Heart disease runs in my family.

My dr gave me Crestor. I have heard nothing but bad things about this medicine. What it does to your muscles/kidneys. I was wondering if there might be a way to get his under control withour having to take this medicine. Any and all advice is appreciated.
I forgot to mention that i am 5’4. Its not that im not open to the idea of medicine for it. I just feel that i should be afforded the chance to lower it without meds. Its true, i have heard and read about all of the horror stories with Crestor. Im just concerned.

Your cholesterol can be controlled by eating in proper balance as well as using some supplements.

Eating in proper balance involves a daily diet of 60% of a wide variety of vegetables of which 50% should be eaten raw. 20% of a very wide variety of fresh raw fruits, 10% complex carbohydrates (yams, cassavas, potatoes etc.) and 10% protein which will include a small amount of fats.

While fats should not be eaten in abundance, it is important for the proper functioning of the body, including metabolism, hormone production, and even the balancing of cholesterol itself. Please note that you produce the most of your cholesterol. It is not cholesterol itself that creates the problem, but the imbalance created as a result of imbalance diet.

Your vegetables should include all green leafy vegetables – inclusive of celery, parsley and watercress – carrots, cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes, turnip, cucumber, pumpkin, leek, cauliflower, garlic, chive, onion and any other vegetable that is available to you. You should eat all vegetables available to you. Eat most of them raw. Have at least one complete meal of all raw vegetable each day or your major meal of at least 60% vegetables.

Eat all kind of fresh raw fruits available to you. Have at least one meal of all fruits each day.

Avoid pastries and pastas. Have gown foods instead – yams, potatoes, pumpkins, carrots, breadfruits, green bananas etc. are foods that along with starch will provide you with other important nutrients and at the same time keeping your calories in check.

Drink mainly home made juices, made from fresh raw fruits or fresh raw vegetables.

As your protein source, include seeds, nuts, grains, peas, beans along with your meats and fish. She foods including sea vegetables are very important in your diet. These are know to help to control cholesterol.

Stress management is also important since it is noted that persons tend the have higher cholesterol levels with high stress level. A very important cause for cholesterol problem is oxidation which causes crystallized deposits on the wall of the the blood vessels. It follows then that foods rich in antioxidant are very important in your diet. These foods are your fresh raw fruits and fresh raw vegetables.
