2. If you feel the urge to urinate, then go for it. Never hold the urine because it can aggravate the infection to uncontrollable limits.

4. You should make sure that you pass the urine after the sexual intercourse. If you don’t feel like urinating, then you can drink a glass of water and pass the urine as soon as possible.

Anyone with interstitial cystitis, IC?


I had a cystoscopy about a year ago, after six months of undiagnosed painful urination. Dr. said exam was “inconclusive” for IC–can’t confirm the diagnosis, can’t rule it out either.
Symptoms have remained pretty constant for the year since then, not better, not worse, I can diminish the pain considerably by avoiding acidic foods and drinking gallons of water.
I’d like to ask people with IC: how long before the onset of symptoms and the time when it was possible to confirm a diagnosis?
Also, any thoughts about natural remedies, or ideas for something to drink other than water, would be much appreciated.

I have it. When I had the painfull cystoscopy the doc at the time was not able to make the diagnosis. But it has continued to bother me. And my newest doc is very convinced I have IC based on the continual symptoms and getting some relief from symptoms by avoiding caffeine and alcohol, etc. I don’t know of any natural remedies and I sure am living most of my days in misery because of the very painfull bladder. I am sorry that you have it too. I drink a lot of natural juices but even they can be acidic in nature. Can’t think of anything to make you feel better.
