Natural Remedies for Your Pets – Are Holistic Treatments Better for Your Cat or Dog?

When seeking out treatment options for your pets, you need to ask yourself “what is safe as well as effective”. If you want a safe way to treat the ailments of your dog or cat, there are things to take in to account before making a decision. We obviously want the best and safest remedy available to us.

There are advantages to holistic pet care products. They are made of natural elements and contain herbs. Because of this fact, it will eliminate the risk of side effects, both short and long-term.

Chemical and synthetic additives are used to make commercial products.  Most humans do not want these products in their system so why would we give them to our pets? We have seen through the years that these products have the potential to cause severe medical issues later on. Although some pets may not have an immediate reaction, it is more likely that there will be long-term effects.

Holistic treatments have been used throughout time to treat medical issues in both man and beast with very safe and positive results.

One of the advantages to using natural remedies is that they are usually something that we already have in our homes.

The next time you need to take your pet to your Vet, have a list of holistic and herbal remedies, that you think might help your pet, and ask him or her to look at it and advise dosage size according to your pet’s weight. My Vet was very helpful when my dog developed arthritis. He really did not want to give him arthritis medicine due to the chances of developing liver damage. Therefore, instead, he recommended glucosamine with condroitin and Omega 3 (fish oil). He even told me how much to give him and how many times a day.

Today’s veterinarians see the advantages to natural remedies. A good Vet takes care to avoid the use of potentially harmful drugs.

Let me ask you, when was the last time you watched a drug commercial and actually listened to the warning of dangerous side effects that they run by you quickly (like an auctioneer)?

We want the safest treatment available for ourselves, so why would we want anything less for our pet?
